Disrupting Healthcare: Insights from the 2023 Milken Conference Panel on Non-Invasive Treatments
Earlier this month, I had an incredible experience at the Milken Institute Conference, where I joined a panel with Maurice Ferre, Neal Kassell, Zhen Xu, Pejman Ghanouni — innovators and disruptors in the field of non-invasive medical treatments — that was moderated by CNN’s Sanjay Gupta. We discussed the progress made thus far in applying these treatments and explored ways to raise awareness, accelerate clinical trials, and foster collaboration to advance their development. The potential of non-invasive medical treatments as alternatives to traditional approaches like surgery, radiation, and drug delivery is immense. Millions of people suffering from conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, depression, and cancer could benefit from these treatments, which offer the promise of saving time, lives, and resources while minimizing side effects. It was inspiring to witness the groundbreaking work of organizations like INSIGHTEC and the Focused Ultrasound Foundation, which are transforming the lives of patients overcoming essential tremors, addiction, and more.
